Measuring just two feet long and weighing 25 pounds, this solar-powered robot was the first wheeled vehicle to traverse another planet. Though it operated for only 85 days, the mission lived up to its name, Pathfinder, by proving the technology needed to send larger, more capable rovers to the Martian surface.
